What's the deal?

Sometimes I stumble upon a website or blog and wonder "what's the deal with these folks? Are they trying to sell me something? Are they marketing, venting or what?" Why are they spending time on this instead of anything else they could do? Then I realised that the same could be asked of my own little blog. So, if you're curious, here's a version of why:

I love good music but I'm not a musician. There are few things finer than listening to good music in the company of others who love it too. A great song will change you. A great song has the power to change the world.

I love to read. And I love to write. Just like music is meant to have a listener, I reckon writing's better off if someone reads it. When I hear good music, and feel I have something to say, I write about it. I used to just write letters to a friend or two. But I figure a blog is pretty much just a public letter to a few more friends.

I live near Denver. So Denver is where it's easiest for me to hear music. And the people making music in Denver are who I mostly write about. I can track them down and talk to them. Music in Denver is often pretty amazing. I used to live in Kentucky and still love the music from there immensely. I even know how to track some of those folks down, so I'll talk about them too sometimes.

So that's the deal.
